EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Tournament Prospect Notes (2004+)
Featured Players: Miikka Muurinen, Miro Little, Mario Saint-Supery, Sergio De Larrea, Saliou Niang, Alex Samodurov, Giorgi Ochkhikidze, Bilal Coulibaly, Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, Mark Padjen
🇫🇮 MIIKKA MUURINEN (F | 6’10” | 2007 ): Muurinen is the youngest player at the event. Really intriguing prospect with serious NBA upside. He’s an elite athlete, can handle the ball, moves very well for his size and has reliable 3PT shooting upside. He might be a lottery pick in the 2027 NBA Draft. Even if he won’t get much responsibility here, this tournament will be a very valuable experience for him. Markkanen is a good role model for his development.
🇫🇮 MIRO LITTLE (G | 6’4″ | 2004): Little already has serious tournament experience with Finland, having played at the 2022 EuroBasket and the 2023 World Cup. He provides defensive presence and playmaking. His NCAA career hasn’t gone well so far, but we could see a breakout season from him at UC Santa Barbara next year.
🇪🇸 MARIO SAINT-SUPERY (G | 6’3″ | 2006): Saint-Supery is coming off a strong season in the ACB as an 18-year-old guard. He has good scoring instincts, can create space for himself off the drive and shows high BBIQ. He’s cold-blooded and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. His 3PT consistency will be important. Another European prospect choosing the NCAA route, he will play for Gonzaga next season.
🇪🇸 SERGIO DE LARREA (G | 6’6″ | 2005): De Larrea had a good season in both ACB and EuroCup with a stacked Valencia team. He combines strong positional size, athleticism and 3PT shooting ability. Spain’s backcourt duo is one to watch. They may face challenges, but this is a huge opportunity and an important step for Spain’s future. Larrea will play in the EuroLeague with Valencia next season.
🇮🇹 SALIOU NIANG (F | 6’8″ | 2004): I really like Niang’s impact in the prep games. He shifted momentum with his high energy, defensive presence and rebounding activity. Intriguing prospect with impressive positional versatility. High-feel player, solid defender and great athlete with a 6’11” wingspan. Excited to see him in the EuroLeague next season with Virtus Bologna.
🇬🇷 ALEX SAMODUROV (F | 6’11” | 2005): Samodurov enters the tournament after making the All-Star Five at the U20 EuroBasket. He’s a solid finisher at the rim and can stretch the floor with his shooting — though he needs to be more consistent. Plays the game the right way.
🇬🇪 GIORGI OCHKHIKIDZE (G | 6’4″ | 2004): Ochkhikidze was named Young Player of the Year in the Georgia-Superleague. He attacks the rim well, pressures opposing guards, shows intriguing playmaking flashes and has 3PT shooting ability.
🇫🇷 BILAL COULIBALY (G/F | 6’6″ | 2004): Coulibaly is coming off a good sophomore NBA season despite injury issues at the end. Strong athlete who thrives in transition and attacks the rim with ease. Versatile defender and high-energy player. His 3PT shooting consistency will be key — he may get plenty of open looks
🇫🇷 ZACCHARIE RISACHER (F | 6’8″ | 2005): Risacher had a solid finish to his NBA rookie season as a 1st pick of 2024 NBA Draft. His off-ball activity and 3&D profile will be a major weapon for France. He can guard multiple positions and is a reliable catch&shoot threat.
🇫🇷 ALEX SARR (F/C | 7’0″ | 2005): Sarr showed good flashes in his rookie NBA season as the 2nd pick of the 2024 Draft. Solid rim protector and lob threat. He can stretch the floor, but still needs more consistency as a shooter.
🇸🇮 MARK PADJEN (G | 6’6″ | 2006): Padjen brings ABA League experience and a good U19 World Cup run. He reads the game well, shows intriguing shooting flashes and is an interesting playmaker. Playing alongside Luka Dončić will give him valuable experience.
P.S: Bosnia has 2006-born Tarık Hrelja on the roster. I didn’t include him here as I’m not very familiar with his game yet, but I want to mention his name.
