Randy Livingston Jr is one of my favorite prospect in the U16 EuroBasket. He has a good court vision. Nice ball handling. He can create for himself and others. Also he is a good defender. He always put pressure on opponent.

He needs to be careful about foul trouble and easy turnovers. He should finish better from the 2PT FG. He also has room for improvement at the free throw. He shot 69% but can definitely improve that.

INTERVIEW

How and when did you start playing basketball?

I was born with a basketball in my hand. I also got a Little Tikes hoop as my first basket.

You had a good tournament with Italy in the U16 EuroBasket. What are your thoughts about the tournament?

It was a ton of fun and allowed me to experience things I never would have thought possible before. It allowed me to create a potential life long bond with my teammates. I loved the opportunity for me seeing another world of basketball compared to American basketball.

Can you compare the basketball played in FIBA with the basketball played in the USA?

There are fundamental differences with the philosophy of basketball in either continent. They are equally as competitive though.

What do you think about Nike EYBL Peach Jam event?

Peach Jam is an exciting but challenging event. It puts you in a very competitive scenery from the first session to peach jam (the last session). You have to go through a lot of talent to win. The venue is also one of the more elite places to play.

You are playing Isidore Newman HS. What are your expectations for this season?

Our expectations are the same as they are every year, to win a state championship.

What are your long-term goals for a basketball career?

Ultimately my long term goals are to be a professional basketball player, ideally in the NBA.

You’re a son of former NBA player Randy Livingston. What are the benefits of this for you?

The benefits for me i would say is that everything he went through i can gain knowledge from him on and off the court. But mainly just picking at his brain consistently to become better everyday.

What are the skills that you think make a difference in your game?

My ability to understand the roles of every position allows me to better see the floor. My first step is able to create a ton of space as well.

Which skills do you want to improve in your game?

Getting stronger after my injury is the priority right now.

Do you have a pre-game ritual?

I would say just listen to music and pray to calm me down, eat a snack preferably a banana, stretch and then game time.

Who is your favorite basketball player?

My favorite basketball player of all time is LeBron James.

Which basketball player would you like to play with in the future?

If he’s still playing basketball whether it’s him being a vet and not playing i would want to play with LeBron. But also i would love to either play against or play with Anthony Edwards.
