2 interviews I did at the Anadolu Efes media day at the beginning of the season: Jordan Nwora & Stanley Johnson.

I couldn’t transcribe the interview due to audio problems, so I tried a new method and saved these two interviews. I wanted to share them before the second half of the EuroLeague season starts. Thanks to Anadolu Efes, Jordan Nwora and Stanley Johnson.

JORDAN NWORA

This is the first time you’ve played in Europe in your career. How is your adaptation going?

It’s been good so far. Still learning and growing each day. I’m excited for the season and I think it will be a good year.

What is the main factor in choosing Anadolu Efes?

I think the biggest factor was just the opportunity to play on a great team and being able to help a great team win.

You were teammates with Elijah Bryant in the Milwaukee Bucks. What did you talk about with him before coming to Efes?

Yeah, I spoke to him before coming here, just kind of getting a little bit more details of what it’s like to live here and be on the team. He just helped reassure me that I was making the right decision.

What are your goals for the next season and your basketball career?

Right now, the only goal is to have a great year and help this team win another EuroLeague championship.

What are the abilities that you think will make a difference in the EuroLeague?

I think the biggest thing for me is just my ability to score. I don’t think there’s another wing or three on EuroLeague who can kind of score or play how I play, so it’ll be good.

STANLEY JOHNSON

This is the first time you’ve played in EuroLeague in your career. How is your adaptation going?

It’s my first time playing in the EuroLeague. So far, so good. I’m still trying to learn a lot about the game. I’m not really putting too much pressure on myself. I’m on a really good team with a lot of really good players. The players have a lot of experience in the EuroLeague. For me, it’s just about getting better every day. I’m not trying to hit home runs. I’m just trying to hit base hits. That’s really about it.

What is the main factor in choosing Efes?

I think the main factor was the opportunity to win a championship. It was a far trip from my house, and I wouldn’t want to come out here to lose. The opportunity to win a championship was very attractive. Obviously, living in Istanbul, a very comfortable place, was very attractive. Honestly, the head coach, he was a really good conversation, a really good guy. I really believe in what his process is. Those three things come to mind first when I think about why I came to Efes.

What are your goals for the next season and your basketball career?

My goal for next season is to be playing in the Final Four and win it. It’s my goal. It’s really the only thing I’m focused on.

What are the abilities that you think will make a difference in the EuroLeague?

I do a lot of things on the court. I can defend. I can score. I’m sure I get better these days. I think my versatility will be probably the main thing. If I can play at my peak with my versatility, I can do a lot of things that will give other teams a lot of problems.
