David Mirkovic had a good first professional season. Stood out in all the tournaments he played in the youth. Smart player, high basketball IQ. Good rebounder, active on offensive rebounds. Efficienct in post offense. Mature for his age. Although he made 0.5 assists per game in the ABA League, showed his playmaking ability in the tournaments he played (2023 U18 EuroBasket B: 3.3 AST, 2024 ANGT 3.2 AST).

How and when did you start playing basketball?
I started playing basketball when i was 8 years old because of my mother who played professional basketball.
You had good performances in the ABA League last season. What do you think about the last season?
The last season was pretty hard for me because it is my first pro season, but it was good school and i really learned a lot because i played with and against a lot of older and more experienced players. I had some good games, some bad games, but the most important is that i learned something from the last season.
Except ABA League, you played ANGT and U19 ABA League this year and you were selected All-Star Five both tournaments. What are your thoughts about this tournaments?
Both tournaments i stood out and i had good performances, but personally i wasn’t happy because my team didn’t win and because we didn’t have much luck, especially at the ANGT.
You were attented BWB Global Camp this year. What do you think about BWB Global Camp?
BWB was one of the best experiences in my basketball life. That’s the first time i have been to USA and it was pretty nice. It’s a whole new world, and it was one of my biggest schools and it showed me the things that i have to work on. Generally BWB is great camp, and nice place to make some new relationships and meet people from other side of the world.
You started the new season with SC Derby and became the team’s top scorer in the first friendly game. What are your expectations from this season?
New coach signed for our senior team, but he is familiar to me, because he was my head coach in U19 team last two seasons. This season i will have really bigger role and the good thing is that coach really trusts me, and i have a lot of freedom and space to make mistakes. My expectations are that my team finish better than last season, and to be the best player in the league.
What are your long-term goals for a basketball career?
My long term goals are to be in the NBA as long as i can and be one of the best basketball players of my country.
What are the skills that you think make a difference in your game?
I think that shooting and passing are the skills that make most difference on the court and i am looking forward to work on everything and make my bag deeper.
Which skills do you want to improve in your game?
The thing that i want to improve the most are my athletic abilities, and i take care the most about it because it’s the only thing that can separate me from my dreams.
I think you are one of the biggest sleepers for NBA Draft. Do you follow the Mock Drafts?
I follow mocks a little bit, and i rarely see myself on them, but honestly it’s one of my biggest motivations to push me forward and every day i wake up thinking about it and it’s the thing that mostly keeps me disciplined.
Who is your favorite basketball player?
Nikola Jokic and Naz Reid.
Which basketball player would you like to play with in the future and why?
I would love to play with Luka Doncic or Nikola Jokic because they are the best basketball players in the world and they seem pretty funny and nice.
